As the Kohler Foundation approached its 80th year, we positioned the organization for the future by developing a new visual identity.

The Challenge

Putting the Pieces Together

How can we honor the Kohler Foundation’s heritage and position it for the future through a clean, crafted visual identity?

After exploring several possible directions, the mosaic-quality logo symbol was selected and paired with a modern typeface with character. The symbol was inspired by the use of mosaics found in the many art collections and artist-built environments the Foundation has conserved.

Solid Implementation

We had the pleasure of unveiling the Kohler Foundation visual identity through stationery suite items and promotion of its 2019/20 Distinguished Guest Series—one the of longest-running performing arts series in the state of Wisconsin.

The Foundation’s new logo supports the organization’s purpose of enabling access for cultural awareness, knowledge, appreciation and the nurturing of creativity for generations to come.
