The Element of Surprise
How can we keep a monthly publication fresh and inviting? How do we continue to tell complex stories in a visually stunning and unexpected way?
We work closely with the Insight editorial team and Shane Van Boxtel of Image Studios, to brainstorm potential creative solutions for the upcoming cover and feature spread for each issue. We choose a direction and dive into the design.
Man Meets Nature
Driven by the Appleton Group's passion for sustainability and abstract thinking, we literally let nature takes its course with the design. We sought out an organic typeface to complement, but not compete with, the photo illustration. The result was a wild and visually striking combination.
Thanks to the brilliance of Shane Van Boxtel (photographer/photo illustrator) and his countless, painstaking hours spent producing this gorgeous photo illustration, together we won 2016 Silver ADDY® Awards from the American Advertising Federation for Cover and Feature Spread.
